No truck driver wants to consider the possibility of their rig bursting into flames. But, unfortunately, it happens. Fire can be very destructive, and it can gobble up a truck with no problem. The thought of your loyal truck on fire is a scary one. But that’s exactly what happened to four truck drivers last week at an Indiana truck stop.
Current Events
We live in a fast-paced world where current events and news shape the landscape of things to come. A lot happens every day, but we’ll keep you posted on things that could impact you or something funny from within our company. We love sharing our funny stories and inside jokes! Anyways, we’re kind of obsessed with insurance here at InsuranceHub (which isn’t terribly surprising) so we’re always scouting for updates in the insurance world. We like being in the know. But if there’s something that we love more than reading and chatting about insurance trends, it’s sharing those trends with others! The more the merrier. We’ll let you know about anything that could impact you insurance-wise because knowledge is power.
Check out our current event articles below and stay current on the world around you. Don’t worry – we’ll also keep you informed about things other than insurance, too! Even though insurance is our favorite.
An insurance look: Fire damages auto body shop in Saratoga County, NY
It might seem like insurance agencies go on and on about the importance of having the right auto shop insurance and having enough coverage. And it’s true – we do. But for good reason. Auto repair shops are not without their risks, and all it takes is one disaster to turn the world upside-down for an unsuspecting business. One auto body shop in Saratoga County, NY, experienced such a disaster when a fire struck in mid-March.
High winds in Amarillo, Texas toppled semi-trucks
Last week, Oklahoma and Texas experienced some extreme weather – to put it mildly. There were high winds reaching sustained speeds of 67 miles per hour, and the highest wind gust clocked 84 miles per hour. The wind in Texas was so strong that it ripped trees from the ground, downed powerlines, blew roofs off of houses, and damaged buildings.
It even toppled a few semi-trucks, this one among them.
The fourth annual Sip & Swine is only a week away!
It’s almost that time of year again, and InsuranceHub could not be more excited! We’re gearing up for the fourth annual Sip & Swine BBQ Festival on March 1st & 2nd at Lawrenceville’s Coolray Field. InsuranceHub is proud to be a Que Crew sponsor for the event. This festival may just look like just a fun barbecue outing for the family, but it holds a lot more importance to a lot more people than you would think.
InsuranceHub introduces CORA, the brain of our agency.
When most insurance agencies talk about wanting to be on the “cutting edge of technology,” it’s hard to figure out where to start. That’s because innovating with new technologies is tough to do without a clear goal of what the agency wants to bring to the table. So, how did InsuranceHub establish a clear goal to live, breathe, and truly operate as a technology-driven agency?
The answer is CORA.
InsuranceHub supports Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter this winter
This holiday season, our family here at InsuranceHub decided to do something to give back to the community. We wanted to share some holiday joy by supporting a cause dear to our hearts, the Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter. The nonprofit is dedicated to helping homeless children and their mothers in the Gwinnett County area, and they also help young women who age out of the foster system at 18. The Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter doesn’t just provide a safe, nurturing home for the families – they help the mothers by creating customized life plans with them and giving them the tools they need to get on the path to independence.
What happens to car insurance when autonomous cars become a thing?
The idea of self-driving or autonomous cars is an intriguing one. What if you didn’t have to be paying attention to the road? What if you could enjoy the privacy of being the sole passenger in a vehicle, but not actually have to drive it? There are plenty of reasons that self-driving cars are something that interests us and has us looking towards the future.
The InsuranceHub method – It’s all about people
Here at InsuranceHub, we believe in treating people the way that we would want to be treated. It’s called the Golden Rule for a reason, after all. And being in the insurance industry is about more than just numbers, policies, and quotes – it’s about people. To us, that means both our customers and our fellow teammates! We want to look out for people, help people, and occasionally bring food for people. It’s all part of the InsuranceHub method.
InsuranceHub Battle of the Holiday Baked Goods 2018
Every year, InsuranceHub puts on a little friendly holiday cooking competition. What can we say? We love food, and we love a good competition. (But we’re not at all competitive. Not at all.) Anyways, this year we did a Bake-off with each of our contestants bringing in delectable baked goods. We had pies, we had cakes, we had cupcakes! It was a delicious day here at InsuranceHub.
