When you get home insurance, it’s important to ask the right questions. But what are the right questions to ask? How can you know what questions to ask if no one ever told you? They don’t exactly teach Insurance 101 in school. To help you figure out what you should be asking the insurance agent helping you with your policy, we’ve come up with a list of seven questions.

4 ways to save money on car insurance by driving safe
There’s a fundamental rule about car insurance that’s important to know: your driving record can affect your rates. Which can be a good thing…or a bad thing. You might have hoped that that speeding ticket or minor (it was a scratch on the other person’s car!) fender bender wouldn’t come back to haunt you, but the truth is that it definitely could. The safer a driver you are, the better your car insurance rates are likely to be. Why and how does that happen? We’ll explain.
An insurance look: 4 trucks burn at Indiana truck stop
No truck driver wants to consider the possibility of their rig bursting into flames. But, unfortunately, it happens. Fire can be very destructive, and it can gobble up a truck with no problem. The thought of your loyal truck on fire is a scary one. But that’s exactly what happened to four truck drivers last week at an Indiana truck stop.
7 reasons to read your home insurance policy all the way through
Okay, okay, we get it: insurance might not be your favorite thing in the world to think about. And it’s probably not your favorite thing to read about either. We get it. That thing is intense.
The ultimate guide to auto insurance coverage
Auto insurance might feel like a different language – one that, unfortunately, they don’t teach in schools. They just kind of expect you to figure things out, from the coverages to getting quotes to making a final choice as to what car insurance to get. We get that it can be overwhelming, so we’ve put together this guide to auto insurance coverage to explain what you need to know.
An insurance look: Fire damages auto body shop in Saratoga County, NY
It might seem like insurance agencies go on and on about the importance of having the right auto shop insurance and having enough coverage. And it’s true – we do. But for good reason. Auto repair shops are not without their risks, and all it takes is one disaster to turn the world upside-down for an unsuspecting business. One auto body shop in Saratoga County, NY, experienced such a disaster when a fire struck in mid-March.
What does mobile home insurance cover?
It’s time to get mobile home insurance – hooray! (Okay, we understand that your hooray may be less than enthusiastic. Insurance isn’t a favorite thing for a lot of people.) Anyways, you need customized insurance for mobile home – a home insurance policy might not cover the risks you face. We’ll go over the basics of mobile home insurance.
HR 1756 would prevent insurers from using credit scores in auto insurance
Representative Rashida Tlaib, a freshman congresswoman from Michigan, recently introduced HR 1756, a bill that’s of special interest to the insurance industry. The bill would prohibit auto insurers from using a person’s credit score or credit history as a factor in setting car insurance rates. The use of credit scores in determining car insurance rates has long been controversial. Several states (California, Massachusetts, and Hawaii) already ban it.
High winds in Amarillo, Texas toppled semi-trucks
Last week, Oklahoma and Texas experienced some extreme weather – to put it mildly. There were high winds reaching sustained speeds of 67 miles per hour, and the highest wind gust clocked 84 miles per hour. The wind in Texas was so strong that it ripped trees from the ground, downed powerlines, blew roofs off of houses, and damaged buildings.
It even toppled a few semi-trucks, this one among them.

If you’re going to be away from home for a while, you might be considering renting out your house so you can earn some extra cash. You may as well let your house earn its keep, right? It’s not like you’re going to be using it anyway. Renting your home, though it may seem like a great idea, opens you up to liability. Here are ten things to keep in mind if you’re going to rent your home.
