Is your LuLaRoe inventory insured?

Chances are, if you’re reading this article, then you likely have racks and racks of clothes sitting within viewing distance.

You’ve got your shipping down, you have been having pop-ups, you’ve got a Facebook group going and you have probably been selling quite a bit. You’re also probably investing money to grow your inventory.

What started out as a hope and a dream is now your real business. Your inventory is likely worth somewhere between $5000 and $20,000 wholesale. And guess what? Everything you have built is not insured.  Your home insurance policy isn’t built to cover your business. A small kitchen fire could ruin your entire inventory with smoke smell. Theft, slip and fall, or even a car accident with your inventory in transport could not only put you out of business but also put you at risk of a lawsuit.

Enough of the doom & gloom. What is the solution and how much does it cost to insure my LuLaRoe inventory?

The solution is a home-based business insurance policy and the cost is typically just around $233/year, which only comes out to about $20 per month! Ok, so here are some follow-up question & answers:

I want to get insured. What are the next steps?

Step 1. Follow this link to our instant quote page.

Step 2. Choose your state, zip code, any claims, and under business description, choose “Ladies/Girls Clothing, Accessories” — PRO TIP: If you just type “clothing” in the box you will see it pop up!

NOTE: If you don’t see your state listed, then give us a call and we can point you in the right direction!

Step 3. On the next page, put in your Business Personal Property – this should include your inventory wholesale cost, camera, lighting, computer, label maker and any other business-related equipment.

NOTE: Your inventory on hand fluctuates.  In the event of a covered loss, you will need proof of what was destroyed.  Keep your receipts!

How long does it take to get a quote?

Less than 5 minutes.. and you don’t even have to talk to anyone to see your rate!

The policy offers coverage when you are away from home hosting a pop-up and you can even use it to prove you have insurance when holding an event.  This can include up to $1,000,000 in general liability to help protect you from a lawsuit.  You list how much total inventory you have, which would then be insured in the event of a covered loss.  The policy also includes $5,000 inventory coverage when not in your home which you can increase to $15,000 for just $75 additional per year.

Like any insurance policy, there are exclusions and it is important to read them.  There is also a $500 deductible for certain losses.
