Managers and executives at InsuranceHub are a far cry from unapproachable. So, it’s no wonder Chrisann Richards (the powerhouse over our agency’s Transportation, Commercial Accounts, and Personal Lines Insurance divisions) was just able to wave me over between assisting an agent with their customer’s insurance experience and an impromptu executive meeting.
Chrisann has been with InsuranceHub for over 15 years, during which time she has juggled a variety of customer-facing roles. Here’s a little insight into how she has and continues to make insurance easy for our clients.
An interview with Chrisann Richards, Vice President
So, you’re kind of a jack-of-all-trades around the office. But do you primarily work with business clients, transportation clients, or personal lines (home/auto) clients?
It’s not one over the other. Since I manage both the commercial and personal lines team now, I’ve just been helping clients and agents of all kinds.
What does your typical day look like?
It’s hard to describe exactly what I do because it changes from day to day. A“typical” morning for me could be managing account alerts, tracking the blocks of business coming in, handling billing for the company or a client, sorting out customer account issues – even now, I’m helping with Sip & Swine BBQ Festival [team and sponsor registrations]. So, it’s a little bit of everything, but overall, just making sure that we retain the customers that we have.
What do you like most about your position?
The variety. It’s challenging, and I get to solve new problems every day – whether it’s between the client and the carrier, the carrier and our company, or our company and the client. Fixing mistakes, clearing up communication issues – generally just making sure everything runs smoothly.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I live for my kids. When it’s baseball season, I live at the baseball field because both of my boys play, and when they don’t have games, they have practice. Right now, baseball season is done, which is nice because I can actually get things done around the house! Outside of baseball season, though, I just love doing things with my family. We go to the movies; we just went up to Cumming to shop at the outlets one day – just little things like that.
If you could give one piece of advice to people looking for business insurance or home/auto insurance, what would it be?
It’s not about the money. And that goes for any type of insurance – business or personal. At the end of the day, it’s making sure you have the right coverage. You don’t want to be in an emergency where you think your insurance will cover something. Then later, you find out that it doesn’t because you opted for less coverage at a cheaper rate. It doesn’t end well.
We’re extremely lucky to have Chrisann Richards, who has such a bright mind full of insurance experience, as a part of our team and on the side of our customers. We hope you celebrate many more years as a part of the InsuranceHub family. Thank you for everything that you do, Chrisann!
